Harbour Group considers long term aim

The severe storm damage that occurred to Portgordon's East Pier on 5th December last year has been a massive setback for Portgordon Community Harbour Group (PCHG) and is a severe blow for all the harbour users.

Further discussions are ongoing as they await the decision of the Crown Estate but PCHG is committed to using whatever influence it has in trying to secure the best future for the harbour and the surrounding area.

PCHG fully recognises that the extent of the damage has brought into question their long-term aim and objectives, which was ultimately to refurbish the harbour and take it under community control.

At a meeting of the Group on January 28th the matter was discussed and it was agreed that once the Crown's position was known the Group would review its future aim in more detail.

Options on matters such as the Group's constitution and committee structure will be considered at their next scheduled meeting on March 25. Recommendations would then be brought to the Group's AGM on May 21. All are welcome to attend meetings. Visit www.portgordonharbour.org
